1st Official Day of Summer Break

Off we went to meet up with friends at the Sound with Picnic Bag Full of Goodies….

IMG_1208

When I say Goodies, I mean heavenly grilled shredded roast beef sandwiches, cherries, watermelon, good ol tator chips, accompanied by chocolate cheese cake bars!  RoseMarie brought us a delicious Pot Roast Dinner on Monday Night and 2 scrumptious loaves of Panera fresh bread to make left over sandwiches out of it, along with the sinful cheesecake bars.  I made the sandwiches this morning and off we went!

Chicago Cubs come to WA….

As a Mother if your like me, you suffer & sacrifice your body for over 9 very long months of sickness & misery during pregnancy, naturally birth nearly 10 lb, 23 inch long babies, and care and nurture your child as he grows into an exact replica of his father despite all of your hard work……..

;)

IMG_1188

And then, that Child has the Audacity to betray his Mother’s Loyalty of True Love of the LA Dodgers and becomes a Fan of the Chicago Cubs!!!!!!!!!!

What is a Mother to do????

Take your Son to the Cubs Game!!!

IMG_1195

But still wear your Dodger Gear!!!

IMG_1193

The Cubs traveled all the way to WA to play against an American League team & still LOST ;)

But all in all, J had a great time & he loves the Cubs b/c his Daddy does….All I can do is pray he comes to his senses SOON!!

Dad’s Among Us………

As a Child I grew up as someone’s shadow, constantly following, yearning to be near, excited to explore what he would do next.  Wherever my Dad was, was where I longed to be!  My Dad and I had a Unique and Special relationship that developed over the years.  As the youngest of 3 daughters, and born with a nickname of “Catfish”, we were bound to bond in only a way that the 2 of us did.  As a young child my Dad mostly worked long hard hours as a Carpenter, and with those long hours came the grueling pain of an overworked back.  My Dad for several years during the Winter months would wake me at 5 am to share a cup of homemade Hot Cocoa with him before he left to work & in return I would lace up his work books so he wouldn’t have to bend down.  I have a plethora of special stories of me and my Dad, but it’s moments like those that are engraved deep in my heart and will be cherished forever!  I love my Dad to pieces, he has been my one Solid Rock my entire Life.  I had so much fun with him growing up & no matter the circumstance he has always been in my corner cheering me on

I love to see my son Jonathan cherish and long to be near my father as time passes on.  My Dad’s name is John & I named Jonathan after him with a tad improvising of an “athan” at the end.  He seems to think girl or boy that my next's child's name should be JOHN!! ;)

Jonathan is lucky to have such a Wonderful Father Figure in his life, Sean certainly adapted to becoming a Special part of J’s life.

Happy Father’s Day to All the Special Daddy’s who brighten up a Child’s Life!

I can sense it!

This morning I didn’t wake up until 7:00 am and I woke to our front door of our home Wide Open!!!!

Jonathan left for school moments ago and Always kisses me on the lips goodbye, this morning he kissed my cheek!  I asked “why no kiss on the lips”? “Mom, I’m afraid you might throw up in my mouth”!!

I sense my family is already tired of me puking my poor guts up constantly!  Sean is trying to have one of the neighbors axe me or at least wanting the neighbors to listen to what he has to deal with daily & the boy won’t even kiss me ;(

I must say though, every time I get sick, if J is around, he runs to the bathroom, rubs my back and ask if I’m okay and says over and over “Mommy, think of something happy, like ME”!!!

SATC

A couple girlfriends and I went to see the new Sex and the City 2 today even with all the mixed reviews…..one friend told me that her gf walked out on it!

It was a long movie, funny, & I just love when they show mostly nakey men in movies AND not for the obvious reasons that their Naked, but because they are ALWAYS showing naked Women in Movies, so I feel like it’s a point for us ladies ;)

Previews for the Eat, Pray, Love Movie came on….I just can’t wait for it!  Julia Roberts has the leading role, it looks Magnificent, so glad they turned the book into a film!

Other than that, nothing to report on in gloomy WA.  I’d really like to be some place sunny & ridiculously hot right now!

Memorial Weekend 2010

I have been out of touch with updating my blog lately.  I spend the majority of my day preventing puking & keeping J from scratching that Mystery Rash of his that he still has.  On Friday Morning Jim (Sean’s Step Dad) & Alana (Sean’s half sister) flew in from Tahoe to visit US!

But  first, I finally decided on a new car for myself and in my driveway is a pretty white one of these……

2010 Swager Wagon, j/k a 2010 Toyota Highlander.  I love the smell of fresh leather seats in a car, smells so darn good!

So, over the weekend it Rained & Rained, & as it’s doing right now, it rained some more!!!  Ruining our plans of Rock Climbing and turning us to the Artsy Fartsy Seattle Activities such as the Pacific Science Center.

I myself am not a fan of ANY sort of Museum.  I find it to be the most torturing excursion for myself and I find it to be funny that the gene has rubbed off on to Jonathan.  Jonathan & I turn into 2 little crabs, walking sideways the entire day, waiting for the torture to end… ;)

Sean, Jim, & Alana on the other hand very much LOVE it, so we were outnumbered!

We also went to the Art Museum of Glass in Tacoma….

exhibitions

The kids glass was fun to browse at, other than that, another day of torture for me and the kid.

Finally, after a day of shopping

Alana, J, and I went and saw Shrek 4.  I thought it was really cute & terribly funny!

I took one picture the whole time Jim & Lani were here  ;(  Even though we did the artsy tours of Seattle, we had such a great visit with the  2 of them.  Lots of eating, playing, and we even went bowling one night!  It was a great time & so thankful they flew up to visit us!

We waited to tell Jim & Lani that I was pregnant until they got here & guess what Jim brought for Sean???  His Baby Book!!!  How ironic & suiting!
