HAPPY 95TH BIRTHDAY NANA!!!

Today on August 1, 2009 our Precious Nana turns 95 YEARS YOUNGGGGGGG! WOW, WHAT AN AMAZING BLESSING HUH! Can you imagine reflecting back on 95 years of life and to be able to reflect on it in such great health??? Well, Nana most certainly knows, and she is doing a damn good job at it. Nana (known to some as Mary) was born on August 1st, 1914 in the great state of Texas. She is the middle child of her family and has a 97 yr old brother Joe that resides close to her in CA, and a younger sister Dorothy that lives near her son in New Mexico. Nana is right where she wants to be, surrounded by her family in Southern CA, enjoying each day as it comes. Jonathan, Sean, and I called her bright and early this morning to sing her a Happy Birthday wish, I'm sure we woke some neighbors with our high pitched tunes. Jonathan asked after we hung up from our conservation "how did Nana know that was us singing"? I told him "Oh Jonathan, we inherited your Papa Barber's musical talents, I'm sure she could recognize that yodelling miles away" ;)

At our wedding just a few weeks ago, myself, my Dad, Nana, and Jonathan. 4 generations staggered....Mother, Son, Mother, Son :) Nana is the oldest of a generation of Five beauties with herself, her daughter Diane, her grand daughter Kristy, her great grand daughter Genn, and her great, great, grand daughters Hannah and Claire. I think I got that right!

Me and Nana
I have always, always, always, wondered why God did not let me inherit Nana's frame!!!!!!!!! ;( DAMN IT!!! I certainly inherited her love for food, but a set of American Thighs to store it in! Isn't she stunning at 3 weeks shy of 95!!!!!!!
Nana caught the bouquet at the Wedding, I wonder oh wonder if we smell romance in the air???????? ;) Happy Birthday Nana, we wish you a Wonderful Day and MANY more to come!!!
This past yr. in Jonathan's 2nd grade class, his teacher was teaching them about the life span of Killer Whales, If I remember correctly it was something along the lines of being about 60 yrs old or so and how they are the oldest living mammals on the planet. Jonathan shouted out in class "NO they are NOT, MY NANA IS THE OLDEST LIVING MAMMAL ON THE PLANET AND SHE IS NOT EVEN THAT OLD YET"!!! Bless him, J says one day that the teachers will be teaching about her ;) We HOPE!! Love you to pieces Nana, save me some sugar ;) muahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
