Lee Ann Womack has a new Song,
There is a God
Try and put your arms around
the 100 year old tree
Climb up on a horse
and let it run full speed
Take a look down at the world from 30,000 feet
on your next flight
Watch a flock of birds
against the morning sun
Close your eyes and listen
to the river run
Catch a firefly in your hand
or a raindrop on your tongue
That's right
Chorus:
There is a God
There is a God
There is a God
How much proof do you need?
Plant a seed and see
what comes out of the ground
Find the heartbeat on your baby's ultrasound
In a few years hear it laughing,
and don't it sound like a song?
Stop and think about
what you don't understand
Things like life and love
and how the world began
Hear the doctor say he can't explain it,
but the cancer is gone
Chorus:
There is a God
There is a God
There is a God
How much proof do you need?
Bridge:
Science says it's all just circumstance
Like this whole worlds just an accident
But if you want to shoot that theory down,
Look around
Just look around
There is a God
There is a God
There is a God,
How much proof do you need?
Oh there is a God
There is a God
There is a God
How much proof do you need?
the 100 year old tree
Climb up on a horse
and let it run full speed
Take a look down at the world from 30,000 feet
on your next flight
Watch a flock of birds
against the morning sun
Close your eyes and listen
to the river run
Catch a firefly in your hand
or a raindrop on your tongue
That's right
Chorus:
There is a God
There is a God
There is a God
How much proof do you need?
Plant a seed and see

Find the heartbeat on your baby's ultrasound
In a few years hear it laughing,
and don't it sound like a song?

It's such a BEAUTIFUL song. I myself Love all of her music, but this one certainly is heart warming in every sense. I highly suggest listening to it, it will make you want to find someone in need to help & at a minimum say your evening prayers a little longer with your kiddos & Kiss your spouse a little longer!

Hello Katie,
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to meet you! Thank you very much for your sweet visit to my blog. You are always welcome anytime my friend. It's so great to meet a fellow military wife. Yay!
Your blog is just beautiful! What a lovely song and heartfelt lyrics. So pretty.
I hope to see you again soon!
Many blessings to you and yours.
~Warmly, Melissa :)
Nice Katie. I love her too.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Greg is quite well fed. And he appreciates it, which makes it even more fun to feed him!!
Hugs,
Thanks for the recommendation. I don't think I've heard this song yet but I'll start paying attention to see if it comes on the radio. I love it when people in the lime light talk about God. :) P.S. Cute header.
ReplyDeleteI love country music, and listen to it all the time, but I have not heard this song yet. Love those lyrics though.
ReplyDeleteCute new header!
Hi Katie... it's Genny's friend Kelly. I LOVE this song too! I think Lee Ann Womack is so taleneted and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Katie,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! So glad you enjoyed the motherhood poem. I love this song you shared. She is so amazing, isn't she?
My thanks to your husband and you for serving our country.
I see you live in WA state. We are in Spokane, WA. Sure is a beautiful state, isn't it?
Come back and visit :) (I'm going to sign up to follow your blog) -Erin
Yes, we are on the dry side of the state. Funny, though, we've gotten a lot of rain this "winter". Not much snow, either.
ReplyDeleteThat is not our house, exactly. It's my family's lake cabin; my dream home. Where my heart is :)
My kids love to wear their aprons in the kitchen, too!
ReplyDeleteI love devoting a day to chick flicks, too. Theraputic, in a way.
Hope you have a great day :)
Hey - thanks for the comment on my blog. Isn't cooking with your son just precious? I was so happy he liked his cookbook - and that he's actually using it! Happy cooking <3
